Many people regularly exfoliate their faces, but far fewer of those same people also exfoliate the rest of their skin. But is it truly necessary to extend the scrub? In a word – YES. It turns out that your body needs exfoliating just as much as your face.
Check out the top 3 benefits of body scrubs
Reason #1 - Removes Dead Skin Cells and Promotes Skin Hydration
Skin cells on your body, just like on your face, regularly shed to reveal fresh, healthier skin underneath. Alas, that renewal process slows as we get older; to give it a gentle push, reach for a body scrub.
A body scrub will assist with the removal of dead skin cells, this in turn will make it easier for your moisturizer to penetrate into your healthy new skin rather than sit atop dead flakey skin cells that are waiting to slough off. Repeat this to yourself: No one needs to have ashy knees and elbows! Thankfully, many scrubs incorporate a moisturizing component so you get double rewards for your efforts.
Using a body scrub regularly will help make your skin look more vibrant and youthful.
Reason #2 - Clears and Prevents Blemishes, Bumps and Ingrown Hairs
Without regular exfoliation, you can end up with clogged pores (yes, these can happen anywhere you have skin – not just on your face). Back acne? Bumps on your legs or arms? These can often be alleviated if not prevented with proper routine exfoliation of your skin.
Regular use of the right scrub can help prevent ingrown hairs and make hair removal easier. And if you shave regularly, the right scrub may help smooth out those pesky razor bumps.
Clogged pores can also block moisture from getting into the deeper layers, and create a hard, unattractive exterior. This is definitely not an attractive look for your skin. Keeps those clogged pores at bay with regular exfoliation.
To have the clearest, healthiest and smoothest skin possible, exfoliating is key.
Reason #3 - Promotes Stress Reduction
Life can get very busy and we are all guilty of sometimes neglecting ourselves in the rush of daily living. Since we can’t squeeze more minutes out of the day why not make the most of the time we do have by enhancing the daily shower experience by integrating a soothing scrub routine?
As much as well love a pampering massage or trip to the spa those are usually few and far between. You can bring some of that “ooh and aah” factor into your daily bath by using the right body scrubs. Stop and enjoy the refreshing texture against your skin. Be mindful of the captivating scents that fill the air as you take a few minutes to pamper your skin.
Let the act of self-care lift your spirits and calm your thoughts. And do all this on a regular basis at a fraction of the time and cost of a spa visit.
